RFH Workshop – Parking

There are two maps – one showing the general location and the other the church itself at a larger scale.

St Johns Boxmoor – general location map

First of all, you will be heading for Hemel Hempstead (Boxmoor is just on the outskirts).  The general map shows the way into Hemel from the A41 bypass, which is joined at Junction 20 of the M25 (heading towards Aylesbury).  The Hemel exit is the first exit.

This map also shows the two more distant parking options: Hemel Railway Station and the Town centre car parks in the Marlowes Centre.  Both locations are about a ten minute walk from the church.  I do not have a price for parking at the station but 6 hours parking in the Marlowes Centre will cost £5.  Please note that the car parks along Leighton Buzzard Road, whilst slightly closer, are subject to a 4 hour maximum stay.
St Johns Boxmoor – site map

The second map is larger scale and shows the church, its immediate surroundings and the closer parking options.  There are free parking spaces in Heath Lane in front of the church and some of these may be free for early comers.  There are also a small number of spaces dedicated for church use only and I propose that we reserve these for blue badge holders and Graham in the first instance.  Please would you find out and let me know whether we do  have any blue badge holders for whom we need to keep spaces.  Thank you.

There are other free parking spaces adjacent to Blackbirds Moor on St Johns Road and further along the road, parking on street is allowed.  This is unusual since almost all of the roads in this part of Boxmoor either have double yellow lines or are subject to residents’ parking restrictions.

There is a pay and display car park in Park Road (£2.50 for all day) which has 70 spaces.  On a typical Saturday about half of these spaces can be full at any one time.

Pay and display parking for up to 4 hours is possible on Cotterells and people can park in the Sports Centre for up to three hours but you do need to go in and register your car at the machine (but you do not have to commit to using the Centre).

There will be people at the church to welcome singers from 9:30 am, and hot drinks (and cake) will be available for people when they arrive for a modest charge.
